Sarah is...

a Doctor of Physical Therapy, dog mom, and children’s author of humorous and heartfelt picture books.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, she spent much of her childhood training to become an elite-level gymnast (power tumbler to be exact!). She traveled the country competing and had the privilege of representing Team USA internationally at World Age Games.

When she wasn’t perfecting her flips, Sarah could be found at the barn riding her horse or tucked away in his paddock, writing her own stories and reading any book she could get her hands on—usually about horses!

Equal to her love of writing was a passion for medicine, and she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Helping people heal from their injuries fueled her spirit, but writing in patients’ charts did not fill her creative well.

Eventually, Sarah’s inner storyteller refused to be ignored. She put pen to paper, spinning adventurous stories that stirred the imagination and fanciful tales that sparked laughter. When she joined SCBWI and walked into her first OK/AR state
conference, she immediately felt a sense of community and belonging. She was hooked!

Sarah now wears a few different hats and, when she isn’t coercing patients to help brainstorm ideas for her latest manuscript, she can be spotted taking her dogs on
escapades around Oklahoma, gathering new story ideas wherever they go.

Sarah is represented by Lynnette Novak of The Seymour Agency.
